Aftercare for PMU Brows (Includes Microblade, Powder Brow and Combo Care)

You will receive a care package to take home with all the supplies you need!

Follow these instructions for 2 weeks (day 1 is when you receive your tattoo):

Day 1:

If your brows are seeping at all, use a clean cotton round or paper towel to dab them anytime during the first day.

Within the first 2-3 hours of your brow procedure wash your hands and then gently cleanse your brows with cool water and aftercare soap. Pat dry with a paper towel.

That night, do the same as above. Gentle, pat dry. NO BALM YET.

Day 2 (day after brow service) and everyday for 2 weeks:

In the morning, wash brows gently with cleanser provided and pat dry. Apply a SMALL amount of aftercare balm provided. Use only the size of a grain of rice, split for both brows.

In the evening, wash again, gently, pat dry. Use the Balm after ONLY if you are dry skinned or feeling dry. If you are naturally oily you will not need more balm.

  • Remember that your brows are an open wound and to not touch them other than washing. Keep the area clean at all times.

  • Do not expose the brows to excess sweat, sun and moisture.

  • NO Botox, filler or injections in the area for 2 weeks.

  • NO other skincare products around the brows or forehead for 2 weeks.

  • NO Sunscreen for 2 weeks.

  • If you are going to be in the sun, wear a hat!

NOTE:

Remember, your selected color will be stronger and more sharply defined immediately after your tattoo. The next day, your brows will appear darker in color. After the skin has flaked/peeled away (during first 2 weeks) your brows could appear as if little or no color is present. This is normal and part of the healing process. In the 3 weeks following this, the color will blossom into a considerably softer version of the original color.

The approximate healing period is 14 days, however, healing can be prolonged if your immune system is compromised or if you are generally stressed, or by poor diet. Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of color is to be expected. This is why we book a touch-up appointment - allowing us to fine-tune your brow tattoo.

Your skin goes through a normal healing process after getting tattooed. During this time, it's common to experience mild symptoms like itchiness, soreness, swelling, and skin flaking or scabbing.

You may have an infection if:

  • A rash that can be itchy with scaly, raised, or swollen bumps

  • Excessive redness or discoloration, where the skin beneath the brow becomes darker instead of lightening up as it heals

  • Pus that oozes from blisters on the skin

  • Open sores that may have crusting

  • Pain that seems to be getting worse instead of subsiding

  • Skin that feels warm to the touch on and around the brow area

Please contact your healthcare provider if you suspect you have an infection and they will assess the severity of the infection.

Look for these general signs of infection:

Fever

Chills and shivering

Sweating

Vomiting

Weakness

Drowsiness

Use your ice pack to help with swelling on the first few days.

Follow these instructions for 2 weeks (day 1 is when you receive your tattoo):

Always wash your hands before touching or cleaning your lips. Do not splash-wash your face. Clean your lips twice daily with damp cotton pads (using sterile water). If your lips get wet accidentally, gently pat the area dry using a clean tissue. Then Apply the provided healing balm regularly using a clean, disposable cotton bud/Q-tip.

  • NO makeup on your lips or near your lips for a minimum of 5 days

  • NO spicy/salty foods for at least 3 days

  • NO kissing for a minimum of 5 days to prevent infection

  • Drink only through a straw for 3 days

  • NO skincare/beauty treatments for a minimum of 5 days after your tattoo

  • NO direct sunlight, tanning treatments, jacuzzis, saunas, saltwater, chlorinated pools, or direct shower spray

  • NO bleach, wax, perform electrolysis or laser hair removal treatments close to your lips

  • NO lip-plumping products, lip filler/enhancements

NOTE:

If you suffer or have ever suffered from cold sores, use an anti-herpes medication 5 times daily for a period of 1 week, or tablets a few days before and after your tattoo. If a cold sore outbreak does occur, it will generally begin on day 3 of the healing process. This is not caused by your tattoo or your artist. Herpes lies dormant in the nervous system forever and can reappear if you are exposed to trauma.

Aftercare for Permanent Jewelry

You can clean your welded jewelry with warm water, a gentle tooth brush and dish soap. Jewelry polishing cloths also work great to get them polished up! Keep jewelry clean from perfumes, make-up, hairspray, lotion & other chemical products. Avoiding these instructions could result in gold filled or sterling silver jewelry tarnishing overtime.

Silver is prone to oxidation in certain conditions. The most common being chemicals (hot tub chemicals, cleaning chemicals, job related chemicals), natural hot springs, humidity and even your ph levels. If your welded jewelry happens to run into this issue, silver cleaner or silver cleaning wipes will fix it up as good as new.

Chains are dainty and fragile, keep this in mind to avoid having your piece snag on something and break!
